To unlock the Trialmaster door in Path of Exile 2, you must collect three special items called the Fates: Deadly Fate, Cowardly Fate, and Victorious Fate. These Fates are obtained by completing Trial of Chaos encounters. Once you have all three Fates, you insert them into the door in the final room of the Trial of Chaos area. This action unlocks access to the Trialmaster's Tower and allows you to challenge the Trialmaster boss.

The "Cowardly Fate" in particular is one of these three essential keys. It also represents a debuff applied during the Trialmaster fight that slows your movement and attack speed, making the battle more challenging by hindering your ability to dodge area attacks and deal damage effectively.

Collect the three Fates (Deadly, Cowardly, Victorious) by completing Trials of Chaos.

Place all three into the door in the Trial of Chaos final room.

This unlocks the Trialmaster door and grants access to the boss fight.

The Cowardly Fate also refers to a debuff mechanic during the fight itself that slows you to increase difficulty.

Timing your preparations and managing the Cowardly Fate debuff by keeping distance and maintaining good positioning are key to surviving the intense Trialmaster battle. The boss fight itself has multiple phases with minions, traps, AoE attacks, and the debilitating Cowardly Fate effect to watch out for.
