"Mitch Kupchak, the general manager at the time, called me. He said, 'Congratulations, you're a Laker. You worked hard for it.' The first thing I remember saying was, 'Tell Kobe that I kept my word.' Denver Nuggets Face Masks
Takeaway: Vučević averaged 21.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 26 games. He and LaVine began 3-7 together but finished 7-8. The pairing didn’t pop initially because LaVine battled a gimpy ankle and, as Donovan cited, the team faced a difficult schedule stretch with little practice time.
Chicago was eliminated from contention for the play-in tournament on Friday after the Washington Wizards defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers. New York Knicks Face Masks
The Nets are a team brimming with talent, but they have been unable to stay healthy this season. Since completing a blockbuster trade in January that landed James Harden -- and also saw the departures of longtime Nets players Jarrett Allen and Caris LeVert -- the Nets' Big Three have played in just eight games together: Kyrie Irving has missed a handful of games for personal reasons and various small injuries, Kevin Durant missed over a month with a hamstring strain and had two coronavirus contact-tracing-related absences and Harden missed over a month with a hamstring strain before returning to the lineup with two games remaining in the regular season.
Dallas Mavericks shooting guard JJ Redick will miss at least the remainder of the regular season because of right heel soreness that has bothered him for much of the season, coach Rick Carlisle said.
Just two days ago, Westbrook tied Robertson’s record while also gaining important ground in the standings for the Wizards. Washington beat the Indiana Pacers and in doing so, secured the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference while also beating their potential play-in opponent. Los Angeles Lakers Face Masks
