Why Outstanding Balance Can Be Difficult

At first glance, Outstanding Balance appears to be a simple investigation quest. Tian Wen wants you to discover what happened to Dodger and recover information connected to his disappearance. However, the quest becomes more demanding because the objectives cannot be spread across multiple raids.

The entire sequence takes place on Blue Gate. You must investigate Dodger's stash, locate evidence connected to his deal, secure his note, and then extract successfully. If you are eliminated before leaving the map, you may need to repeat the necessary steps.

This makes route planning more important than raw combat ability. A player who knows exactly where to go can reduce exposure to dangerous areas and spend less time wandering around the map.

Start at the Traffic Tunnel

Your first objective takes you to the Traffic Tunnel. Follow the quest marker and move toward the interior of the tunnel. The relevant search point is located near the far end, close to a campsite and blue tarp.

Interact with the location to investigate Dodger's stash. The search does not immediately give you the final item, but it advances the investigation and points you toward the next location.

Take your time before interacting with the stash. Other Raiders may be nearby, and ARC machines can also make the area dangerous. Listen for movement and scan the surroundings before committing to the search.

Continue Toward Pilgrim's Peak

Once the first investigation is complete, your next destination is Pilgrim's Peak. The objective is connected to the large antenna in this area, so identifying the tower is an important part of navigating the location.

A zipline provides access to the relevant section of the structure. After reaching the correct area, look around the red machinery for Dodger's bag.

Interact with the bag to obtain Dodger's Note. This note is the evidence Tian Wen needs, so once it is in your possession, the mission enters its most important phase: extraction.

If your equipment setup includes a Safe Pocket, consider storing the quest item there. This can be particularly valuable during a dangerous return journey because it reduces the risk of losing important progress.

Extraction Is Part of the Quest

Obtaining Dodger's Note is not enough. You must leave Blue Gate alive and return to Speranza. This is where many players can make an avoidable mistake by staying too long after completing the objective.

Select an extraction route based on the current situation rather than automatically choosing the closest option. Avoid unnecessary engagements, monitor your health, and save enough healing resources for the journey out.

After returning to Speranza, talk to Tian Wen and deliver the note. The quest provides an Aviator outfit color along with attachments such as an Extended Medium Mag and Silencer II. It also unlocks the next part of the story through the Settled in Full quest.

How to Make the Run Safer

Preparation is the key to Outstanding Balance. Bring reliable healing items and avoid filling your inventory with unnecessary valuables. Knowing the route before starting the raid can also reduce the amount of time you spend exposed to enemies.
