Some people have looked at this cartoon and had the reaction “this is Thundercats Roar again, it’s doomed to fail.” Not really a fair comparison. Thundercats Roar was an attempt to make something ridiculous out of something cool, so it was set up to flop before it even got started. The characters in Jellystone, however, were meant to be funny. That task was more difficult back when they were new and under the thumb of Saturday Morning network censors. But now, on HBO Max, Boo Boo gets a chainsaw!

He went on to provide the voice of Robin in several different animated Batman and Robin appearances from 1968 to 1985 as well as Alexander Cabot III starting in 1970 on Josie and the Pussycats.

One of the things I’ve been working on is finding the best prints I can of Betty Boop cartoons for “The other Betty Boops” Blu-ray set. While it would be wonderful to get 35mm on all the films, there are very few 35mm prints on the public domain Bettys. We’re trying to help round out the films available so there are decent copies in HD of these shorts. We’ve been tracking down as many original non-theatrical and TV prints as able- and need to get to 20 of them to finish the set. Most we’ve found are 16mm prints, but we’ve also found quite a few 9.5mm prints from Europe that have all the original Paramount titles. The picture quality varies on these 1930s prints, but some of them are quite good.

“It so happened that Walt’s own grandnephews were such great fans of my Beany and Cecil TV show that they ran around all day wearing Beany caps, playing with Beany balloons and games, with Cecil and Dishonest John puppets on their arms, giving the D.J. laugh, ‘Nya ha ha!’

Ten years later the tunnel reappears and Towa is able to go home — and to her shock, Setsuna doesn’t seem to remember her! Untangling this mystery is going to take more than just the two of them…they’ll need Moroha, the daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome. The series goes on from that point. Pillow Case

Next, a stationary bicycle. The old gag revisited again, as the rear stand vibrates out of place like a kick-stand removed. Billy sails out the station rear door, up a hill, back down again in reverse, into the station, and takes out another wall. Possible is noticing their home is beginning to look thinner than the bear himself. Possible installs one more device from the roof rafters – a chinning bar. Billy’s weight, reduced or no, is still an overwhelming factor here, and Poss quickly realizes he has made a mistake, as the rafters begin to groan. He and Macon Mouse abandon station, as the roof caves in under the bear’s weight, and all four walls collapse in one by one, as if watching the fall of a house of cards.

This particular print is, honestly, unique as far as I can tell. Mark Kausler was kind enough to lend it for the project, and it contains footage that no other print we’ve found seems to have. It looks like its a combination of at least three different prints, with the body of the film being from a pretty good original print down from the 40s. We’ve now scanned more prints of this one cartoon than any other- a total of five prints: one 35mm from Denmark and four 16mm. All of them are missing something that the others have, except Mark’s print, having everything. The things missing, honstly, make it a better film, and are all really fun gags.
