Has Bregman’s star fallen a bit due to his heavy involvement in the Astros' cheating scandal? Absolutely. Did he have a mediocre 2020? For sure. But none of that means he’s not still good. In 2019 he put up MVP level numbers, and came in second for the award. Bad numbers in a 60-game season might scare some people. The fact that he cheated might also scare some people. But a 60-game season shouldn’t define his future. As for the cheating … well, maybe I’ll just stop there.
It's a much different case when it comes to Gabe Kapler's decision. The Giants manager still hasn't announced his Opening Day starter, despite the first game being just nine days away. To Kapler, though, there's no reason to rush his choice.

What impresses most people about Bryson DeChambeau’s play is his length off the tee and rightfully so — he is hitting it off the tee to places on the golf course that no one ever thought possible. DeChambeau has a great touch around the green and doesn’t get a lot of credit for it. In this moment, he had to play this shot from the bunker on the 14th hole during The PLAYERS Championship. I was first attracted to the light and how it appeared that DeChambeau was by himself on the golf course. It was also an opportunity to document a different side of his game other than his use of the driver. It has been a lot of fun to see the fans back at tournaments that rush to see DeChambeau pull out the driver.
That is quite the comparison from Baker, whom also said that Valdez is “just short of a miracle.” If Astros fans were not feeling confident about Valdez before, they should be right now.
