But sometimes you need to take the good with the bad. Over the long haul, Gostisbehere and Travis Konency are players you want out there, especially on the power play. As much as Vigneault want to “send a message” by benching players, it’s possible that he’s instilling at atmosphere of fear that stifles creativity.
With no hope for the playoffs and plenty of decisions to come with the trade deadline looming, it seems pretty clear that the new path for the Ducks is to play Zegras and Drysdale together as much as they can, continuing to build on their chemistry that started with AHL San Diego. Because the Ducks just aren't very good in general, Zegras (9 percent rostered in Yahoo leagues) and Drysdale (15 percent already!) won't be consistent contributors, but they can be incredibly valuable in keeper leagues. Drysdale is on the verge of surpassing Shattenkirk as the primary offensive defenseman, if he hasn't already, especially since Shattenkirk has scored just four power-play points. There is a risk the Ducks may send Drysdale back to the OHL, but if he maintains his current level of play, why would they?

We recently looked at 10 players, including seven forwards, who the Bruins could target at the trade deadline. One player not on our list was Arizona Coyotes forward Conor Garland. Could he be an option for the B's?
New Jersey is trending in the right direction as of late. The Devils won two of their last three games, which came against the Penguins. They’re 3-1-1 in its last five games overall, netting seven of a possible 10 points. The Devils are playing Philadelphia in the second of a six-game, 10-day road trip. It started with a victory in Pittsburgh on Sunday and will finish with games in Washington (2) and Boston (2). The Devils have the second-best road record in the East Division at 7-3-2.
The Devils nearly folded under the Flyers’ late-arriving pressure, but New Jersey held on to win in regulation.
